The AWWA C207 is a standard that describes ring-type slip-on flanges and blind flanges. Pressure ratings are a mandate for conditions as well as for temperatures pertaining to slurry, waterworks, waste water, plant piping or other light duty applications. The pressure ratings for the AWWA C207 Flanges are to be based on the design of the maximum operating pressure along with an anticipated surge pressure. The design of the Flange is based on pressure considerations, not for stresses or load that has been induced by external moments where the pipe acts as a beam. AWWA C207 Steel Pipe Flanges produced in accordance with this standard are intended for use in amalgamation with steel pipe, fittings, or appurtenances. These components, in turn, meet the requirements of either ANSI/AWWA C200, ANSI/AWWA C208, or other equivalent standards.
